Charlie Osborne, MEng (Hons)
Graduate Sustainable Building Services Engineer
Charlie joined LEDA as a Graduate Sustainable Building Services Engineer in September 2021, having recently graduated from the University of Sheffield with a Chemical Engineering MEng (Hons). Charlie specialised in the psychology of the circular economy for her research project, examining the intrinsic motivations which drive consumers to comply with pro-environmental government initiatives such as Direct Return Schemes.
Prior to joining LEDA, Charlie gained experience working with Engineers Without Borders UK to develop teaching resources for Primary and Secondary schools which are used across the UK to introduce students to the world of sustainable engineering, and to promote further education in STEM fields.
As part of her work with LEDA, Charlie is working on developing the heat and electricity strategy for a sustainable new build in Birmingham, for local cooperatives. These organisations will use the building to continue their work providing skills and housing to their community, and the build will contribute greatly towards the revitalisation of the area.
