After graduating with Honours from The University of Manchester, Jim worked as a Hospital Facilities Management Engineer with Carillion before joining the multi-disciplinary Max Fordham practice. Jim was a Partner at Max Fordham for four years and was instrumental in establishing the practice’s Scottish office in 2003, principally to deliver a £50m new-build campus for Edinburgh’s Telford College.
Jim is a Building Services Engineer with in-depth industry experience across a range of sectors, from infrastructure and masterplanning to education, sport and the workplace. He has extensive experience of providing low energy passive building designs and advice. Recent work includes design of a low energy church and community building in Leeds, refurbishment of a Grade 2* listed school buildings in York, and the design of very low energy school buildings in Worcester..
