Exciting Opportunity to Jump Start a Career in Sustainable Engineering

LEDA are seeking to recruit a top graduate to join our multi-disciplinary team of engineers, designers and architects. More experienced candidates will also be considered.

LEDA are a multi-disciplinary worker’s co-operative of building services engineers, Passive House Consultant, and Architects, delivering integrated design solutions in tandem with specialist advice, feasibility strategies and low carbon consultancy. As part of our team, you will be expected to take a graduate engineer role where you will be working with senior engineers and Passive House consultant to carry out all aspects of project work including calculations, specification and drawing work. You will also be meeting other professionals and contributing to reports and carrying out site visits.

SUSTAINABILITY

Our small team of designers have the vision of being the best sustainability focused practice in the north, and are dedicated to working collaboratively to create great sustainable buildings that respect the environment and are a joy to use. Our ethos of environmental sustainability underlies every project we undertake. You will use the latest technology and be a key part of our future developments for us to deliver world class designs including Dynamic Thermal Modelling, BIM implementation, Passive House design, Post Occupancy Evaluations, and LEAN design to name a few. Ideally, you will have good degree in science, engineering or maths. An interest in learning new software and developing existing skills is a must. You will need a keen interest in energy, buildings, and creating the right working and living environments, but also interest in the nuts and bolts of how this is achieved from concept to completion.  You will need to be resourceful, conscientious, innovative, and able to work independently. You will also need to communicate confidently with all levels of professionals and trades people, so good interpersonal and presentation skills are essential.

The LEDA team consists of experienced chartered engineers and architects who will provide training and mentoring, enabling you to learn and progress.  We will also provide external CPD and training courses to ensure you meet criteria for chartered engineer status.

In 2021 we won the ‘People Development’ Award at the 2021 Yorkshire & Humberside Constructing Excellence awards. The judges commented “It’s clear LEDA is an incredible place to work!”

Salary: £23,910, plus 6% Employer Pension Contribution, plus 30 days’ holiday. Part time is an option. Our pay system is open and transparent, after 6 months you can become a member of the co-operative and share in any surplus profits.
