Having declared a #ClimateEmergency and aiming to become carbon neutral by 2030 the housing delivery team at York City Council is bringing forward an ambitious programme of new homes. LEDA are part of the team helping to realise this vision and to deliver hundreds sustainable low energy homes within the city. We will help York achieve this aim using our expertise in Passive House, low energy buildings, renewable energy systems and lean building services engineering.
Along side Civic Engineers (structural and civil) and URBED (Landscape) we will complement Mikhail Riches team, building on their experience of having recently completed largest UK Passive House scheme at Goldsmith Street in Norwich.
“For LEDA, this is the kind of project we dream about. Closely aligned with our desire to have a big impact on improving sustainability and deliver great low energy buildings that are a joy to live in and use.”
Jim, Lauren and Richard – LEDA’s team that worked on bid.
Mikhail Riches’ has chosen to work with us as a Yorkshire based co-operative business bringing our local experience, expertise and values to this project.
With the aim to build 600 homes in the next 5 years with around 40% for social rent this project has the potential to have a huge impact on the quality of new homes available in York.
