The Proud Trust, Manchester

It is so exciting to see the scaffolding come down on the new building for the Proud Trust in Manchester.  It’s a great moment as it gives us a much more tangible vision of what the building will be like, after years of only being able to look at the plans and models.

This is a very low energy building that will be certified to the AECB Building standard, and hits many of the LETI Zero Carbon performance metrics.  Being very well insulated and air tight, it only needs a domestic sized ASHP and has passive house certified MVHR unit to provide the main heat recovery ventilation, together with a heat recovery system for the kitchen ventilation.

With lots of opening triple glazed windows provided by Green Building Store, and natural ventilation systems by Passivent, the users will also be able to control the ventilation and comfort in summer.
